The 2017-2018 season of the Great Falls Forum kicks off on Thursday,September 21st, featuring Ian Catlett, Attorney-Adviser with the U.S. Department of State.  His discussion is entitled “East Africa Security and Justice and the U.S. Role Overseas.” The program will take place from noon to 1p in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon Street.  It’s co-sponsored by Maine Community Integration.  For more information, contact LPL Adult & Teen Service at 513-3135.

A public New England Boiled Dinner will be held Friday, September 22nd from 5:30-6:30p at the Odd Fellows Hall, 27 Village Street in Lisbon.  Sponsored by Nina Rebekah Lodge 86 & Sabattus River Lodge 21.  Donations are welcomed.  For more information, call Gail at 353-3567.

The annual Harvest Baked Bean Supper will take place Saturday, September 23rd from 4:30-6:30p at West Bowdoin Baptist Church, 54 West Bowdoin Road.  A donation will be requested.  For more information, call Melanie at 353-2446.

A Bean Supper will be held Saturday, September 23rd from 5-6p at the Lisbon United Methodist Church on 14 School St. in Lisbon Falls. There will be homemade baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, ham, hot dogs, pies and more. Costs $8 for adults, $3 for children and free for children 5 and under.

The Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington Street in Bath, opens their theatrical season with the classic, Oklahoma!  Performances on Saturday, September 23rd at 7:30p and Sunday, September 24th at 2p.  Tickets are $12 in advance & $15 at the door.  For advance tickets and more information, call 442-8455.

The Auburn Farmers’ Market will take place on Tuesday, September 26th from 4-7p at Happy Days Parking Lot, 67 Mill Street in Auburn.  Local farmers & artisans will be on hand to sell fresh or homemade products.  For more information, call 320-1969.

The Lewiston Education Fund is holding its 8th annual Harvest Reception & Tasting on Wednesday, October 18th at Fish Bones American Grill, 70 Lincoln Street in Lewiston .  This year’s event will feature a 5-course dinner with wine pairings, a door prize, raffles and silent auction, all while highlighting local businesses that support educational opportunities, provided by the Lewiston Education Fund.  Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at squareup.com/store/lewiston-education-fund.

The Thread Theater at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston is holding performances every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.  Admission is $5 per person.  For more information, call 783-1585 Monday thru Friday from Noon - 4 pm.

Seniors Plus in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association have monthly support group meetings, designed to provide emotional, educational, and social support for people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease or another form of dementia.  They will be held at Seniors Plus on 8 Falcon Road in Lewiston.  There’s no fee but pre-registration is required.  For more information about dates and time or to register, call 1-800-427-1241, ext 3728.
